Bru Coffee Bar

If you are ever in Los Feliz and in need of some good espresso, Bru is the place to go. Located on the lovely street of Vermont, Bru Coffee serves Ritual Coffee out of San Francisco. It was one of the first places I discovered when coming to USC two years ago, and I've been back a few times whenever I'm in the area at vintage clothing stores, the great restaurants in the area, or seeing a movie at the adorable Los Feliz 3 Cinemas. This past visit to Bru I had their Seersucker Espresso from Ritual. This espresso is their Summer seasonal espresso and the flavors were described as "root beer" or "caramel" and I actually liked it better than past experiences from Bru, although they served the espresso extremely hot. The coffee bar itself has a cool layout with an upstairs seating area, outdoor porch, and very high ceilings. I wouldn't say this is my favorite coffee shop, but it's definitely a good go-to when you are in the Los Feliz area.

Recommend: Walk around Vermont Ave! This is the great part of Vermont (not further South near USC)--good restaurants, shops, and cinema.

Note: WiFi available, good place to study, good area for people-watching outside.  Also, it's open until 10 pm on Friday and Saturday, so it's a great place to go before a late movie!

Price: $$

Espresso Rating: 7.5/10

Overall Rating: 8/10

Hours: Mon-Thurs 7am-8pm, Fri-Sat 7am-10pm, Sun 8am-8pm
